From Samuel Mensah Torbizo,Kumasi
The Women’s wing of the House of Faith Ministries, had donated items worth GH¢1,000 to the female inmates of the Kumasi Central Prisons.
The items included sanitary towels, slippers, used clothing and varieties of toiletries.
The donation formed part of activities marking the national annual convention of the Women’s wing of the church.
The women’s national convention took place at the Queen’s Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from July 31 to August 4, had the intention to help make life better for the inmates of the Female wing of the Kumasi Central Prisons, with the assorted items donated to them.
The donation was made on the behalf of the wing, by Rev. Mrs. Joyce Anim, who also led the visiting team to share the Word of God with both the inmates and the prison officers.
According to her, it was not the fault of some of the inmates to find themselves in prison, hence the need for society to extend love and kindness to them .
Receiving the items on behalf of the inmate, the Officer in charge of Religious Affairs, ASP Dora Annang, expressed gratitude to the Faith Ladies for being mindful of the plight of the inmates and called for more of such support from all corporate bodies and individuals to augment government’s provision for the prisoners.
House of Faith Ministries is led by Rev. Alfred Nyamekye and supported by Rev. Dr. Esther Nyamekye , who is the chairperson of the Women’s wing .
