Members of the Evergreen Fun Club, a group of young men and women sympathetic to the course of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has thrown their support behind the third time bid of the twice defeated presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the October 18, 2014 presidential primary of the party.
Mr Joseph K. Appiah, said as a group “We are for Nana and nobody can convince us that Nana Addo is not a winnable candidate for the party come 2016 general elections.
He said Nana Addo is the candidate that holds the key to the NPP winning the elections for the party.
He expressed delight in the group’s decision in supporting the candidature of Nana Addo and called on all sister groups to also do same.
He said, all the candidates contesting the elections are competent, but Nana Addo’s candidature stands tall in the scheme of the party going into the 2014 general elections.
Speaking at a fund raising ceremony in Accra attended by Mr Michael Fordjour, the Madina Constituency Youth Organizer, Mr Hopeson Adoye, the failed aspirant for the National Organizer position in the last NPP internal elections, as well as the Coordinator for the disbanded Crusaders for Nana Akufo-Addo (CONA) and Mr Yaw Adomako Baafi, one of the communicators for the party.
On his part, Mr Sami Awuku, the National Youth Organizer, took the opportunity to lambast the administration of John Dramani Mahama for creating an unfavourable economic condition for Ghanaians.
He was quick to blast the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the gross mismanagement of the economy and the falling Cedis.
He said, the NDC administration has seen vast majority of Ghanaians being impoverished since t assumed office five years ago.
He said, Ghanaians are reeling under the leadership of the NDC and called on all supporters not to sit on the fence, but work to ensure that the NDC is booted out come 2016.
