Electricity Company Of Ghana Honours Iduapriem Gold Mine

The management of Electricity Company of Ghana, Western Region has presented a plaque and a citation to AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Gold Mine last week for its loyalty over the years at a brief ceremony at the premises of the Mine in Tarkwa.

“As part of our 50th anniversary celebration, we are showing appreciation to our loyal clients and we are committed to serve the Mine better”. General Manager of ECG western region, Ing. Mrs Jacqueline Ofori said.

The citation was in recognition of the mine’s commitment in paying its bills promptly for power supply for mine operations. It further said, during difficult years of the power service provider in 2017, prompt payment of the Iduapriem Gold Mine’s bills kept the Electricity Company of Ghana afloat in business.

The presentation forms part of the Electricity Company of Ghana’s 50th anniversary celebration which took place last year.

Senior Manager-Processing of the Mine, Samuel Bonney Noi receiving the citation and plaque on behalf of the Mine noted that the services of ECG is paramount to Mine operations. He indicated that as cherished stakeholders, the mine will endeavour to honour its obligations as far as energy use is concerned. “Adequate power supply in the running of mining business is paramount”.

Present at the ceremony was the Mine’s Engineering team and cross-section of management members of the western Region office of Electricity Company of Ghana.
