The aspiring assembly member for Kronum –Kwapra Electoral Area in the Suame Constituency, Mr. Pius Acheampong, has hinted that his focus when elected will be on education.
He revealed that, there are parents in the area, whose children are very brilliant, but are out of school, because they lack financial support to cater for their wards’ education.
He said, to address these challenges, he would set up educational endowment fund to provide financial support for the education of such children if he is elected.
“My focus will be on education to provide the needed assistance for the under privileged children to continue their education if I am elected, I intend to set up special educational fund for that purpose”, he added.
Mr. Acheampong, who is being rooted for by the youth in the area, told this reporter that since education is the key that unlocks every human potential, he is committed to ensuring that the Electoral Area produces high class scholars to handle future affairs of the place and the nation at large.
He disclosed that already, he is shouldering the cost of education of six children, one in senior high school and the remaining at the basic level.
On sanitation, the aspiring assembly member, promised that he would work closely with the concerned authorities to sustain the National Sanitation Exercise in his locality to promote good health among the people.
“Since it takes healthy people to develop a country, I will collaborate with all concerned to periodically carry out clean up exercises,” he noted.
Mr. Acheampong said, all artisans like plumbers, electricians etc, under his leadership will be put under one umbrella to enable the members fight for their common interest.
He further indicated that he would at least, every quarter organize assembly clinic to brief the public on the occurrences at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The assembly clinic, he explained, would offer the electorate a platform to make their problems equally known for the necessary remedies.
The twenty –nine year old Higher National Diploma (HND) graduate is sure bet of defeating the other four contenders.
He asked the electorate to give him the nod, because he has what it takes to address their challenges.
