East Ayawaso MP Donates To Muslims, Students

Alhaji Mahama Toure Naser, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for East Ayawaso at the weekend, donated items to chiefs, imams, opinion leaders and Constituency executives of the party towards the Ramadan.

The Ramadan donation was preceded with a donation of Mathematical Sets to candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination in the Kanda and Nima Circuits within the constituency.

The Ramadan items which was presented trougth the constituency executives include 100 bags of sugar, 150 cartons of ideal milk, 100 boxes of Lipton Tea, 20 cartons of Milo, 20 bags of rice and 10 boxes of oil.

It was received by Alhaji Williams Olabodi, the Constituency Chairman led by the other executives.

Alhaji Toure said the gesture was to demonstrate his love for the Muslim Community in line with the annual observation of Ramadan, which is considered as the holiest month and one of the five pillars of Islam.

He commended Muslims for peacefully co-existing with other religious organisations.

Alhaji Toure noted that the high sense of maturity exhibited by Muslims had contributed to the promotion of democracy and good governance in the country.

He appealed to the Imams to continue to offer sacrifices and prayers for peace and stability in the country.
Presenting the mathematical sets Alhaji Williams Olabodi on behal of the MP entreated the students to appreciate the value of time and make good use and desist from all examination malpractices.

He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration led by President John Dramani Mahama as part of its commitment towards girl child education has put in place a policy to award scholarships to students who aspires to pursue Science and Mathematics in the Secondary and Tertiary level.

Alhaji Olabodi added that the distribution of free laptops to secondary and tertiary students in the country was a clear demonstration of the Mahama administration in making education accessible to all.

He congratulated parents and teachers for their diverse efforts in preparing the candidates and commended the East Ayawaso Sub-Metro Education Committee for working tirelessly to improve the standard of education within the constituency.

Alhaji Olabodi also thanked the MP for the kind gesture.

The MP however made a promised to sponsor the best student among the candidate to the Senior High School.

Mr Israel Martey, Kanda Circuit Supervisor of the Ayawaso District Education Unit, thanked the MP for the kind gesture and expressed their willingness to partner with him to improve educational standards in the constituency.

He advised the candidates to take their studies seriously as the examination was fast approaching.
