Deputy BOST MD Disrespects Court Again!

The Deputy Managing Director for the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation, (BOST), Moses Mensah Assem, has still not appeared in court after he was arrested by police for abusing siren to beat traffic on the Dawhenya road.

This is the second time, he has failed to show up in court.

He was arrested on Saturday, alongside twenty eight other errant drivers as part of Citi TV’s War Against Indiscipline campaign.

Four more drivers, who appeared in court have been slapped with fines of GhC720.00 each bringing the number of fined drivers to 17.

So far the total sum of fines accrued to the state as a result of the Dawhenya exercise stands at GhC11,600.

The drivers argue that, since they all erred, they did not see why Moses Assem, would not show up to face the law.

Over 100 drivers, have so far been arrested and put before court for breaking traffic regulations.

They have been fined between GHc600 and GHc1000.

Moses Assem, was arrested for using a siren in his V8 to beat traffic on the Dawhenya highway on Saturday.

In his defence, he told the Police, he had clearance from National Security although he was unable to provide evidence to that effect.

He pleaded with the Police to let him go with the excuse that he had the donations to a funeral he was attending on him, hence his use of siren to beat traffic.

Moses Asem and many of the drivers arrested were en route to funerals.
