The defiant suspended National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Awentami Afoko, has filed an appeal challenging his suspension by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.
An Accra High Court (Human Rights Division), presided over by Mr. Justice Anthony Yeboah, had last week ruled that the NEC of the NPP, followed due process and the right procedure in suspending him and subsequently threw out his case.
His spokesperson, Nana Yaw Osei, hinted immediately after the ruling that Mr. Afoko, would launch an appeal, because he was dissatisfied with the court’s outcome.
“The appeal process has begun with the filing of the Notice of Appeal today (22/8/2016) at the registry of the High Court. It was filed at exactly 11:50am today. The appeal is against the whole decision of the trial High Court. Several grounds of appeal will be canvassed at the Court of Appeal”, he revealed.
