Create Loot and Share MTN Mobile Money Edition Must Stop


The situation customers of mobile telecommunication giant, MTN, go through to assess services every day, leaves a lot to be desired.
From the poor service delivery to the unbridled profit motive that defines their service, which has often been described as extortion, many people have had cause to call for a halt in the double payment that users of Mobilemoney are made to endure.

In spite of the shortcomings of MTN, their customers have remained with them over the years, from when it was Spacefon to Areeba and now MTN.

Customers, have gotten little back by way of reward for loyalty, except exorbitant prices they are made to pay for no-existing service.

“Payment from Notable Solutions-Dansoman 18-current balance GH¢—–, available balance GH¢……Cash in deposit is a free transaction on MTN Mobile Money. Please do not pay any fees for it. Thank you for using MTN MobileMoney. Fee charged GH¢0.”

This is the message one receives after sending money from MTN office. Whiles you are told not to pay anything for it, you are not allowed to send money to anyone, but only if you are paying into your wallet.

The irony is that, after they decide not to charge you for paying the money into your wallet, you will now have to send it to whomever you intended sending to and you will now be charged, the person is also charged, when he or she goes to withdraw.

While we acknowledge that the company reserves the right to charge for service they render, which is borne out of the propensity to make profit, we believe that, it should be done with a human face, taking into account, the status of majority of their customers, who use that service.

Authorities with oversight responsibility, have acted negligently, they should know that, they owe it a duty of care to protect the consumer, against blood tasty companies, whose only motive is profit driven.

A lot of people have spoken against the practice of MTN, where customers, are made to pay twice for a single transaction.

MTN, must be sincere in its engagement with the customers, it cannot be saying one thing and doing another
