…As Executives Bussed Supporters To Welcome Him
The claims that the people of the Volta Region, turned out in their numbers to accord the Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP); Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, a rousing welcome, has turn out to be false, as the supporters were induced with money.
When Dr. Bawumia visited Ho, the regional capital last Wednesday, it has emerged that majority of the people that were seen escorting him, were induced and bussed by the regional executives of the opposition party in the region, The Herald has been informed
A statementsigned by Mr. Kafui Agbleze, the Volta Regional Communications officer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), revealed how the people were influenced to attend the welcoming ceremony of Dr. Bawumia in the Region.
“We are, however; not surprised by the cold reception given to Dr. Bawumia, when he visited Ho west, despite all they did by giving fuel and money to motor riders to escort him.
In spite of all these, the people shunned Dr. Bawumia’s company after receiving their gifts”, the statement explained.
According to the statement, the inducement of the people, coupled with the Rambo style politics the NPP intends to use to create fear and panic in other to prevent people from coming out in their numbers to vote, would be resisted with a stronger legitimate force in the region.
“We are sending a strong warning to the NPP in the region to conceal the ideas of creating fear and panic in the region because ‘Voltarians’ want to go into the elections in a peaceful atmosphere”, the statement warned.
The statement further explained that, per the intelligence available to the NDC; Nana Akuffo Addo, the promises made to the people during his earlier tour of the region, have not gone down well with the people, hence they are questioning his level of appreciation of the developments in the region.
The statement said, Nana Addo’s obsession with promises and without checking his facts, is fast drowning his campaign in the region.
Mr. Kafui Agbleze said, the people of Klikor, have been provided with potable water and the project is being done by government at a cost of GH¢ 1,350 million to cover areas, such as Satsimadzah, Dodorkope, Klikor, Tokor, among others.
The people of Satsimadzah are currently using this water and pipelines, have also been laid to Klikor with and overhead reservoir being worked on in the area.
On the exploration of the Ketan basin, the statement said, a company named Swiss Africa and Pet Volta investments, have been awarded the exploration and production license for the Keta block which covers 3000 square kilometres.
It added that Nana Addo’s promise of constructing a bridge over the Volta River; had been defeated by the government, as it had secured a loan from the Japanese government for the construction of a new bridge across the Volta River as part of the Eastern Corridor roads.
The statement mince no words to mention that, the NPP, having realized their massage have collapsed like pack of cards, are now plotting to resort to violence ahead of the November 7, elections.
The statement concluded that the thought of this idea by the NPP, shows they lack superior tactics and intelligence to go into the upcoming elections.
