Bank of Africa -Ghana has supported the 5th battalion of the Lion Heart fraternity of the Ghana Armed Forces to celebrate the West African Soldiers Social Activities (WASSA) with a cheque and a trophy at the Arakan Barracks in Burma Camp.
The donation which was done at a ceremony last Thursday to change the commanding officer of the 5th Battalion and to celebrate the return of the troops who were on peace keeping duty in Lebanon, was primarily in support of the WASSA organized by the Arakan Barracks.
The outgoing commander Lt. Col Lawrence Gbetanu who handed over office to Lt. Col. O.J. Ampadu commended the Bank of Africa –Ghana and other corporate organizations for their immense support over the years.
Mr. Alex Adjei-Amponsah and Mr. Yaw Dapaah of the Retail Banking Department as well as Elaine Fynn of the Marketing and Corporate Communication Department of Bank of Africa –Ghana donated a cheque of an undisclosed amount and a gold trophy on behalf of the Bank.
The Head of Retail Banking, Alex Adjei-Amponsah who spoke on behalf of the bank said the support is to strengthen the long standing mutual relationship between Bank of Africa-Ghana and the Ghana Armed Forces.
The staff of the Bank also used the opportunity to create awareness about the Bank and also to sell the bank’s products and services to guests at the ceremony.
