The newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Adentan Municipal Assembly (AdMA)in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Benjamin Angenu, has called on members of his municipality to assist him develop the area to an enviable status with all the desirable amenities.
The MCE, made this call when he interacted with chiefs and opinion leaders in his municipality on Wednesday to solicit their views and support for the development of the Assembly.
The MCE, was accompanied by the Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Zakaria Abdudellah, some Assembly members namely; Harrison Agbedawu, Assembly Member for Otano electoral area, Nii Okai Blofo, Assembly member for Ashalley Botwe, Mr Sakyi Armah, Deputy Director at the Assembly joined the MCE to visit the opinion leaders and tour the two -kilometer Nmai Djor road under construction in the municipality.
The visit, took the MCE and his entourage to the palace of Nii Abloh Sowah, Nmai Djor Manste, office of the Imam Mamoud Ahmed, the Imam of Nmai Djor Central Mosque, the palace of Nii Abayete, the Chief of Adaman Njornaa and Nii Teteh Obitere, the Chief of East Legon Otano.
He used the opportunity to thank the chiefs for their support during his elections at the Assembly in accordance with the Local Government Act.
He maintained that even though the visit was to thank the opinion leaders for their support for the Assembly it was also to hear some their developmental needs.
He said, the visit would help the Assembly to plan ahead in meeting the needs of the people in the municipality.
He was grateful to them for advising the youth to desist from vices that marred the peace of the nation as well as the Adentan municipality.
On his part, Nii Abloh Sowah said, when the area which was formerly under the Tema municipality has not seen any development since its separation by the Government.
He appealed to the MCE to do his best to have the area developed under his tenure to set an example for others to follow.
He called on the Assembly members to also support the MCE and let go their selfish differences and move the Assembly forward.
While, the Chiefs complained about the sorry state of toilets, as well as lack of potable drinking water in their area, the women among them expressed the need for the School Feeding Programme and the MASlOC loans to be extended to them to support their operations in the area.
As part of the itinerary of the MCE, he will be visiting the palace of Chief of Tesa, Otinishie,Adjiriganor, Frafraha, Adentan, New Legon, the Dagomba Chief of Aben Woha and Chief of New Katamanso.
The rest are; Muslim Chief of Ogbolo, Gurmo Chief of Ogbolo, the Kotokoli Chief ofnDzen-Ayoor, Chief of Sraha, chief of Ashalley Botwe, Chief of Nanakrom, Chief of Amrahia, Chief of Marledzor, Chief of Ashiyie and Chief of Amanfrom in the course of the week as part of his citizens based approach toward governance.
