Lawyer James Agalga, has urged ace investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, to sue the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong, over his claims that, the former acquired properties through corrupt and criminal means.
The MP for Bulsa North, insists Kennedy Agyepong, has the right to speak about anything and also allege same, but he must be prepared to provide evidence to back whatever claims he is making against Mr Aremeyaw Anas.
He, therefore, said it is the same way Anas has the right to clear his name by asking the Assin Central MP to substantiate the allegations of blackmailing on the part of Anas in acquiring his properties and doing business.
Speaking in an interview with The Herald yesterday, Mr Agalga, who is the Ranking Member of the Committee on Defense and Interior, stressed the need to resolve this matter at that personal level.
Since the word about the premiering of Anas’ investigative work on Football corruption emerged, panic has taken the better of many.
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, who was made to watch excerpts of the investigative piece, ordered the arrest of the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, for what was said to be influence peddling using the President’s name.
The Assin Central MP, has been on the loose, accusing Mr Aremeyaw Anas, with claims that he uses his investigation to blackmail and amass wealth and properties.
But Mr Agalga, has said that, Anas must get protection, following the threats on him.
He said, the position of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) statement on the matter, was in order.
