…promises to revamp financial base of Party For 2016

An aspiring National Treasure of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called for the revamping of the financial base of the party to better position it to trounce, the New Patriotic Party’s flag bearer for the 2016 election for the third time.
Alhaji Abdallah Ahmed Abdallah, otherwise known as Alhaji PMC, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PMC constructions limited, made this comment after filing his papers at the Kokomelemele party headquarters in Accra.
According to him, the NDC stand a better chance of winning the 2016 elections, if the financial administration of the party is given a clean sheet and manned by a competent person.
He said, the NDC can beat the NPP again, only if the party’s finances are well structured and better mobilized going into the 2016 elections, which analysts are speculating will be a waterloo for the President John Dramani Mahama led administration.
He continued that even though Ghanaians are complaining about the developments in the economy, the party can still win the 2016 presidential elections, if it has strong financial muscle and logistics.
According to him, it is about time business people in the party stepped forward to help in the financial organization of the party.
Al-haj PMC, who had over the years been one of the key party financiers and supportive of the Brong Ahafo regional branch of the party, is expected to battle it out for the national treasurer position with the incumbent, Mr Kamal Norshie, Mr Awudu Ariff, while Nii ArmahTackie, seeks the deputy national treasurer slot.
Alhaji PMC, whose company constructed the Dansoman highway and other ancillary roads in Accra and across the country, is said to be enjoying massive endorsement among the national leadership of the party, including the youth wing.
According to the reports, Alhaji PMC, showed leadership when the party was in opposition, and particularly in ensuring that the late Prof Evans Atta Mills won the 2008 general elections.
However, the party office came alive last Wednesday November 26, 2016, when tens of party stalwarts and their supporters, including the National Organizer, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, Mr Kofi Adams, the spokesperson for the founder of the party, Mr J.J Rawlings, who is gunning for the National Organizer, Mr Andrew Okaikoi,, husband of the former Minister of Information; Madam Zita Okaikoi and now Ghana’s Ambassador to Czech Republic, filed his papers for the race of the National Vice Chairman.
Madam Betty Mould-Iddrissu, the former Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (AG), filed for the position of Vice Chairperson, Mr Kobby Fiagbe, the Managing Editor of Ghanaian Lens (newspaper), also filed for the position of National Propaganda Secretary.
Others are, Mr Adu Asare, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Adentan Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and removed Executive Director Youth Enterprise Support (YES), Mr Dan Amartey Mensah, the former Municipal Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly, who filed on behave of Danny Annang who is also seeking reelection for the Vice Chairman position.
Also speaking with the media after filing his papers, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan called on the NDC delegates to reward loyalty, dedication and hard work in the upcoming elections.
He said some members of the current leadership of the party have suffered to bring the party to this level it is today and must reward these persons massively.

He denied the existence of factions in the party, claiming the endorsement of some of the aspirants by the functional executive members as an act of teamwork.
This is everywhere in politics, claiming people as part of team work and cohesion choose the people they want to work with.
He further cautioned people who like to experiment by jostling for various positions they know they cannot fit to desist from doing so in the party because certain positions in the party are not meant for experimenters.
He explained that situation where some persons kept jostling for positions, they know they cannot mange, will not help the party going into the 2016 elections.
