Mr. Alex Mould has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
The Herald’s sources at the GNPC have confirmed the changes.
His appointment takes off with immediate effect. Prior to his appointment, the affable Alex Mould was the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
His predecessor Nana Boakye Asafu Adjaye has been asked to proceed on leave with immediate effect.
He was at the birth of GNPC, and seen through its growth. He was part and parcel of all legal and other operations of the corporation.
He was sacked by the Kufuor government, but brought back upon the return of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by the late John Evans Atta Mills.
The Energy Ministry indicates that Nana Boakye Asafu Adjaye has been asked to return to the Ministry of Energy for reassignment after his accumulated leave ends in January 2014.
A new Chief Executive for the NPA is expected to be announced soon.
