Uses Nyaho-Tamakloe’s Name In Dirty Tactics
A founding member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has vehemently denied authoring a statement, which sought to rundown the possible choice of Member of Parliament (MP)for Okere Constituency in the Eastern Region, Dan Kweku Botwe, as the Campaign Manager of Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections.
The ‘statement’, suggested that Nana Addo, would be better suited appointing someone other than Mr. Botwe to serve in that capacity.
Outspoken Nyaho-Tamakloe, has since described the statement as, “mischievous and malicious”, and called on all to treat it with the “contempt it deserves”.
Nana Addo, according to the NPP insiders, is said to be considering, Dan Botwe, an ex-NPP General Secretary and former Information Minister in the Kufuor government as his campaign manager.
Meanwhile, The Herald is informed that persons close to Nana Addo with journalist background, were the ones who authored the write-up, using a fake email address created in the medical doctor’s name.
The persons, some of them with family ties with Nana Addo, do not want to see Dan Botwe anywhere close to the 2016 NPP Presidential Candidate. Their explanation is that Dan Botwe, does not believe that Nana Addo is attractive enough to the electorates to be made president.
According to them, Dan is from the Eastern Region, and feels working hard for Nana Addo, who is also from the Eastern Region, to become president, will dim his (Dan) chances of becoming President, since they know that the MP for Okere has presidential ambition.
Additionally, they are of the view that Dan Botwe, enjoys too much of a cosy relationship with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), and might end up giving out NPP strategy to the ruling party.
They plan to release certain things he had said about Nana Addo in the past to the media in the coming weeks.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, a retired military Captain, on Joy FM’s news analysis programme Newsfile on Saturday said that, “I categorically deny making any recommendation to Nana Akufo-Addo, regarding the choice of campaign manager.”
Indeed, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, said he was convinced the letter emanated from one of the “two or three factions”, within the NPP.
“And I can tell you that I am 100 percent sure it is coming from our party,” he stressed, pointing out that he was “very upset” by attempts by his own party to draw him into malicious politics.
“I have never run away from my own comments”, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said to drum home his assertion that the statement sent to the media did not come from him.
Explaining further, he stated emphatically that he has “never communicated to the media using email”, neither does he post articles on social media.
The NPP stalwart said, the statement attributed to him has many “notorious facts”.
He further argued that the statement purported to have been written by him, had his name wrongly spelt. His name is hyphenated: Nyaho-Tamakloe.
The statement was sent via a Hotmail account, but he said he also does not use Hotmail.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, has vowed to “go deep down” to fish out whoever wrote that statement, if the party fails to look for the person behind it.
“What will happen to him, he will never forget in his life,” he warned his impersonator.
He also placed on record that he has not sat down to have any political discourse with Nana Akufo-Addo and Dan Botwe for two and five years, respectively.
Sounding very furious, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, maintained that everything attributed to him in the statement, “is totally false.”
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, had on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Friday, described the statement as malicious and warned “Whoever is doing this must stop or the person definitely will suffer in life.”
He sternly warned the people behind the statement, to cease their actions or be prepared to “suffer”
“I categorically deny having written any recommendations to Nana Akufo-Addo regarding the choice of a campaign manager or any political decision for that matter. This story is mischievous and malicious and must be treated with the contempt that it deserves.”
He added: “I have never been one to run away from my own comments, never and this is a notorious fact. I was informed that the comment was received by e-mail. I have never communicated to the media by e-mail in my life and again that is a notorious fact. The e-mail account in question does not belong to me. My name is also spelt wrongly in the article and I don’t post articles on social media.” He added that he had not been in contact with either Nana Addo for a considerable period of time and had no intention of being part of the situation which he deemed “unnecessary.”
“I have not seen Dan Botwe for almost 5 years now and I have not had any talks with Akufo-Addo for the past two years and I don’t want to be involved in this sort of unnecessary controversy.”
The creation of the fake addresses of prominent individuals and media houses, and sending out fabricated stories in their name, especially on social media, has become the stock in trade of the NPP in recent times. The stories are made to score cheap political points.
The same modus operandi, was used in sending the story claiming a Ghanaian lady, who was arrested for carrying cocaine to London was travelling on a Ghanaian diplomatic passport.
The story attributed to a non-existent media house called, “African Online”, mentioned Ibrahim Mahama, as having links with the lady, who turned out to be Ruby Appiah, alias Nayele Ametepe, alias Ruby Adu-Gyemfi and other names.
Same writers, also churned out another story in the name of Airport International Magazine, claiming it has confirmed diplomatic passport issue with London Police and airport security in the matter of Ruby Appiah. It turned out to be false as the editor of the magazine on radio denied his medium published the said story.
The Herald, The Republic, The Al-Hajj and other newspapers, have been victims of these fabricated and dirty stories full of political and criminal innuendos.
The Herald, has traced the write-ups to one “M Sarpong”, working with Deloitte and Touché auditing firm in the US.
