It is beginning to show that, Ghana’s President, will spare no effort to fly out of the country upon the least invitation, instead of staying at home to address the country’s many problems.
In the last one and half month, President Nana Akufo-Addo, has spent time in America, Germany, India, Rwanda and other countries.
His latest trip was to Nigeria, to attend the wedding ceremony of Fatima Dangote, daughter of Nigerian business mogul, Aliko Dangote.
It is not clear, whether President Akufo-Addo, knows the couple.
Fatima got married to Jamil Abubakar at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island in Lagos, last Friday night, and Ghana’s Akufo-Addo, was the only African President to grace the occasion.
Interestingly, the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, sent his wife, Aisha Buhari to represent him.
His daughter, Zahra Buhari, son in-law Mohammed, accompanied the Nigerian First Lady.
Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President of Nigeria, was president in his personal capacity.
Also present was Bill Gates, founder of the Microsoft Corporation, former Nigerian Vice President, Namadi Sambo,Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and musician Davido.
Fatima’s husband, Jamil Abubakar, is a pilot and the son of former Inspector-General of police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar.
While, the President was in Nigeria having fun, Ghana’s Parliament was debating his decision to get the United States of America to establish a Military base here in Ghana.
His side the of the House approved his cabinet’s decision to give the Americans access. The Minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) walked out of Parliament, refusing to be part of the decision.
