Africa Internet Group (AIG), one of the leading internet platforms for online selling items in Ghana, says since its inception in 2012, it has been able to create seventy-one online companies.
According to AIG, its online companies are registered in twenty-six countries and deals in real estate, food ordering services, taxi services, traveling and tours; vehicle selling and hiring.
In Ghana AIG is supported by Millicom Ghana, operators of Tigo mobile telephony, Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), operators of MTN mobile telephony and Rocket Internet, an internet Service Provider (ISP).
AIG operates six online companies in Ghana namely, Camudi, Easy Taxi, Hello Foods, Jamia, Kaymu and Lamudi and they offer various services in Electronic-commerce (E-commerce).
Speaking at a media interaction in Accra, managers of AIG said, the platform was an Electronic commerce that operates a strong network with flat hierarchies with vast expertise in business development.
AIG also collaborates with major universities to develop young African talents in exciting and rapidly growing digital economy.
The managers said the platform provides for company’s employees to rotate all round Africa and accumulate knowledge and harness high level of expertise to become the
next generation of entrepreneurs.
AIG says the growth in internet penetration is providing Africa with the tools to accelerate economic development.
The platform managers namely Akua Nyame Mensah of Lamudi, the online marketplace for real estates, Mr Kofi Amoo of Camudi, online marketplace for people who want buy used cars and new vehicles, Mr Baffour Appiah-Koran of Easy Taxi, one of the world’s fastest taxi booking platforms on online, Sacfine Marzati of Hello Foods, an online food delivery platform and Sanc Happati of Jamia, an online shop destination where one can shop.
Explaining how it works Mr Louise Mensah of Kaymu said his company has increased reach to thousands of buyers as a result of its advanced and aggressive techniques to grow local businesses in the country.
He said Kaymu is leading marketing experts that markets products across different online and offline channels.
He explained that Kaymu is the biggest spender in online marketing investing over thousands of Euros per a month in various channels on the AIG platform.
He said to avoid fraud the platform is to urge buyers to pick up their products, where they will have the opportunity to examine, inspect, meet the seller and pay.
