A modern health facility is to be established at Ahwiaa in the Kwabre – East Municipality in the Ashanti region, in order to provide good health care delivery to the people.
This was made known at a Forum organised by the Ahwiaa -Anyinam – Zongo Youth to welcome the newly installed Youth Chief (Sarkin Samari) of Anyinam – Zongo, at a colourful ceremony at Anyinam-Zongo over the weekend.
The new Youth Chief, Alhaji Abubakari Idriss Ali- Zeba, succeeded, the late Alhaji Yakubu Big- Shei, who died ten years ago.
The Forum was under the Theme: ‘Re-Conciliation and Unity’.
Addressing the well-attended Forum, the new Youth Chief, said the people at Ahwiaa and its environs lack Social amenities such as Potable Water, Access Roads, and Health Facilities among others for far too long.
‘We as Citizens, must supplement the effort of the Government to provide such amenities,’ he said,
He, therefore, appealed to the youth to forget the past and forge unity, work as a team and take decisions as a team, with the Assemblymen and Unit Commute Members to bring development to the area.
Alhaji Abubakari Idriss Ali-Zeba, who is popularly known as Golden Boy, advised the youth to be law- abiding at all times and be respectful to the tradition and norms of their hosts Ashantis, in order to live in peace and harmony in the region.
The Sarkin Samari, said conflicts within the community would only destroy achievement they have chalked but would also compel the government to divert resources from other pressing areas to restoring law and order.
‘It would be a waste of precious resources, time and energy which at this crucial stage our nations development, we as a people should not allow to happen’ he pleaded.
He also advised them not take the law into their own hands, they should channel their grievances through proper channel for redress, rather than using violence in settling disputes.
Touching on education, the Golden Boy called on Muslims particularly the youth to seek knowledge of all kind provided it was designed to serve humanity.
‘We need Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Engineers and other Professionals to be able to make significant contribution to the social – economic development to the country’ he stressed.
He advised the youth to stay away from drugs especially, Heroin, Tramadol, Indian hemp and Alcoholic drinks among others, to avoid being hooligans.
He announce that, plans are on the pipeline to organise the youth in the area, to listen and dine with them in order to know their problems.
On his part, the Assembly man for Anyinam – Zongo Electoral Area, Adam Mohammed Tony, advised the youth to desist from back biting, character assassination, among others.
He made it clear to the people of the electoral area that, he is still the substantive assembly man for the area. He called for support in order to move the area forward.
In another development, the following personalities were also installed as chiefs to fill some vacant positions.
They are, Malam Abubakari Husein, Abdul Rashid Osman and Daudu Salifu Manju as Chief Butcher, Sarkin Shanu (Agriculture) and Chiroma respectively.
The post of Sarkin Dogara (Captain) and Development Chief (Nkosuohene) went to Yakubu Moro and Alhaji Salisu Rashid respectively.
The installation ceremony was attended by Nana Oduro Agyarko, Chief of Kwabre- Medoma and the representative of Nana Amo Ntiadu, Ahwiaa- Anyinam hene.
To climax the occation, a Special Prayers were said for the Nation, the President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo, Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, the Asantehene, Ministers of State, and the MP for Kwabre- East, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, Nana Oduro Agyarko, Chief of Kwabre – Medoma, and Nana Amo Ntiedu, Chief of Anyinam and the Municipal Police Commander.
