The Africa Youth Awards is a prestigious and coveted awards scheme with the prime aim of acknowledging and awarding the works of young Africans in Africa and the diaspora. After much anticipation, Africa Youth Awards has officially announced the acceptance of nomination for its 2015 edition.
Launched in 2014, the awards scheme was inspired by the lack of recognition for young Africans who have selflessly dedicated their lives to making sure the future of Africa is optimistic. These individuals have set on a mission to change the perception of Africa and are contributing to the developmental success of the African continent.
In 2014, after public nominations were opened and made known to the public, Young Achievers from 11 African countries were nominated. The first edition featured illustrious winners such as Ashish Thakkar, Sara Nana Yeboah, Aya Chebbi, and Cyrille Guel etc. During this edition Africa Youth Awards also released a list of 20 under 20 African Change Makers, which was widely praised and met with admiration across the continent.
The 2015 public nomination will launch on the 3rd August 2015 and will close promptly on the 3rd October 2015. The nominee submissions will be collated and evaluated by the judging panel, which is made up of great African Achievers from across the diaspora. Once the evaluation process is completed, finalists will be selected, named and submitted for public voting in November on the official Africa Youth Awards website.
Nominations are to be submitted via the Africa Youth Awards website: http://www.africayouthawards.org/nominees-registration/ and will be collated to the final results.
Eligible nominees are young Africans who are blazing the trail in various change driven sectors of the economy, of the continent and their various countries. For more information regarding the available categories and their definition please visit the awards website.
