Haruna Ibn Yahaya Muash ,the Coordinator of Action Youth For Mahama (AYFM) , a group working relentlessly to ensure a second term resounding victory for President Mahama said, the warm reception given to them in Kumasi by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the region , has really boosted the confidence of the party’s targets of one million votes in the region.
He said the target is possible, if all join hands to win at least one floating voter to the party.
Action Youth for Mahama, came to Kumasi at the weekend with one its outreach programmes to canvass votes for the party.
The members of the group, joined by their colleague followers of the NDC, walked through some principal streets in Kumasi before converging at the GNAT Hall which was filled to capacity.
“I am m shocked to have seen such large number of people who joined us during our brief street walk, the notice though was short, what I saw really baffled me, this has given us impetus that Kumasi, for that matter Ashanti region, can no longer be tagged as the stronghold of the NPP,” he stressed.
Mr. Yahay Musah, told The Herald that the core mandate of the AYFM, was to tour all regional capitals to strengthen the support base of the NDC.
“We are here to boost the chances of the party and this would be replicated in the other regions,” he said.
According to him, if all the functionaries of the NDC, put their shoulders to the wheel, they can even go beyond the set one million votes target in Ashanti region.
“The achievements of this government clearly brighten our chances to retain power, but we need to work hard to realize this,’’ he added.
“To attain this feat, I want all of us to use the right campaign strategies and whatever resources at our disposal to rise to the task’’, he emphasized.
