The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura – Sekyedumasi Constituency in the Ashanti region, Muhammad Bawa Braimah, said 80percent of the inhabitants in the Constituency are farmers.
He said, his main concern was for the farmers to get farming inputs, such as seedlings, technical support and chemicals to ensure a bumper harvest, and also to help them to sell their farm products.
Muhammad Bawa, who is also a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ejura – Sekyedumasi District Assembly, made this known in an interview with this paper, at the weekend.
The MP for Ejura – Sekyedumasi, disclosed that, about 8 kilometers roads in the Ejura township, was constructed, while in office as the DCE for the area.
Touching on development, Muhammad Bawa said, ‘‘our work in Parliament is not to build roads, schools or do projects, but we can lobby the Ministries and Agencies for project for our Constituencies’’.
He revealed that, he has been able to improve education by providing infrastructures in the district, adding that, ‘‘without infrastructures you cannot help the development of education.
On flood prone areas in his Constituency, the MP hinted that he was prepared to table the issue in Parliament.
