The 1992 club of Ghanata Senior High School, Dodowa has cut sod for the construction of a multipurpose sports project for the school as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.
This, the club claims is because of the inadequate sports facilities and the poor nature of the schools sporting field.
Speaking to Dangme Voice, Mr Fiamor Peter, who is a research officer at the Canadian Embassy in Accra, said the vision of the club was to project the four disciplines of sports in the school i.e. volleyball, Basketball, Lawn Tennis and handball.
He also mentioned that the project is estimated at Ghc 150,000.00 and will be completed later this year.
“This facility when completed, will serve as a model club for sporting activities in the Greater Accra Region”, He offered.
The headmaster of the school, Mr Benjamin Kwame Aperkon, speaking to Dangme Voice, lamented on the poor road network leading to the school’s premises and pleaded to the 1992 GOSANS and all past students to help fix the poor road network.
Finally, Mr. Fiamor Peter, threw a challenge to the National GOSA club to identify, commit and finance a project within the strategic plan for the school.
” we have the men and women to make it prestigious. We and the future generations would be proud beneficiaries. I strongly believe that these actions will be an imprint on the minds of current students who will adopt this culture once they leave school. The cumulative impact of our efforts will be immense if we have the numbers coupled with strong commitment “, He offered .
He thanked the 1992 club Anniversary committee for the great contribution in the schools development.
